IEC’s English for Public Speaking is designed to complement the Speech and Drama syllabus and to provide wider opportunities for Speech on a personal level.
This syllabus will also meet the requirements of many people who are in occupations where there is a special emphasis on speech.
The Communication and Public Speaking for Business syllabus (for working adults) provides an alternative stream to Communication and Public Speaking levels 6, 7, Proficiency and Associate Communication and Public Speaking (based on the Australian GUILD Communication syllabus). The Communication and Public Speaking for Business syllabus require the creation and delivery of PowerPoint presentations.
This course would be suitable for older children 12yrs & above who want to improve their presentation skills and take their speech level to a different level.

Students may choose to sit for external GUILD examinations to earn internationally recognised certificates. AGMS
For students younger than 12 years, we recommend our Speech & Drama syllabus under the IEC Performing Arts Pathway. This syllabus is also based on AGMS foundations and helps younger learners build expressive communication, stage confidence, creativity, and foundational speech skills in an age‑appropriate setting. AGMS
Students completing this programme may take Australian GUILD Communication & Public Speaking exams for graded certification. These certificates are recognised internationally and provide evidence of assessed competency in public communication.
